Fans were buzzing with anticipation of a new banner on the exterior of Williams-Brice Stadium after Head UofSC Football Coach, Shane Beamer,, posted an inquisitive emoji on his Twitter featuring the old banner on Friday.
The Welcome Home banner being installed on Williams-Brice
The Twitter post teased a new banner, and a new Welcome Home banner was installed by midday Saturday. Fans were immediately threw a flag on the play and called a false start about the color either being too red, too purple, or too crimson. No matter the color of the banner, fans decided it wasn't the right shade.
Just hours after the banner went up, it came down. It will be replaced as soon as the banner is reprinted, the color is the correct shade of garnet, and it's a banner Gamecock fans can be cocky about. With Sept. 4 in sight, fans will be waiting — once again — in anticipation to re-welcome the Welcome Home banner. 🤙
