Hello Friday. March 29 2024 How fitting that “Welcome Home” has been the University of South Carolina’s most recent campaign slogan as it also welcomes back Michael Amiridis to the flagship university as the 30th president. The Board of Trustees selected Amiridis during a meeting Friday afternoon and will begin his career as president this summer. Since 2015, he has been Chancellor of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), but prior to that role was dean of the College of Engineering + Computing at UofSC for more than 20 years. He also served as the university's executive vice president for academic affairs + provost.
