6 updates from the BullStreet District

With five projects expected to be completed this year, the BullStreet District is starting to take shape. Since the completion of Segra Park in 2016, the area has steadily grown with additions of businesses like REI + Starbucks, and the opening of Page Ellington Park.

All part of a 20-year transformation plan, the district will soon be filled with new residents, dining options, and is the future home of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.

Let’s take a look at six active projects in the BullStreet District:

  • Bennet at BullStreet — The apartment community will feature 269 residences and house ~500 Soda Citizens. The 45,000 sqft ground floor will be available for retail space + restaurants. Anticipated opening: 2023
  • The Babcock Building — One of the largest projects on site, renovation + restoration of the historic building are well underway, with the first units move-in ready by spring. Anticipated completion: Openings beginning in April of 2022.
  • The Laundry at BullStreet A full historic renovation of the dynamic space is currently underway and will likely be used as either a restaurant, brewery, or retail location. Anticipated availability for tenants: Late 2022
  • Parking GaragesTwo parking garages are under constructionone adjacent to WestLawn and another across from Segra Park. Anticipated completion: Early 2022. Freed Street Garage is expected to be completed in time for the Fireflies baseball season opener on April 8.
  • TownPark at BullStreet — Two of the four phases of townhomes are complete and are owner-occupied. Anticipated completion: Phase three in March 2022 + Phase four in Fall 2022.
  • WestLawn — The 79,000 sqft office building is well under construction, being built with cross-laminated timber and environmentally sustainable renewable construction material. Anticipated completion: Summer 2022

Coming Soon to BullStreet

Popular Five Points eatery, Publico Kitchen and Tap will soon open a second location in the historic Ensor Building next to Segra Park in Spring.

The Battle at BullStreet will return to Segra Park on Sat., March 5, as the Gamecocks take on the Clemson Tigers.

The Columbia Fireflies host the opening night of their sixth season on Fri., Apr. 8 at Segra Park.
